scinerds: Mmmmmmmmmmm melanin. Have you guys seen this picture going around Tumblr? It’s pretty nifty. Edit: Off of the top of my head - The coloration of your eyes is brought about by the amount of melanin and the type that your body produces! It’s polygenic inheritance, which means that multiple genes and alleles will affect the outcome of your eyes. That’s how we get so many shades of eye color! Melanin for the most part is brown though, which is why people who produce large amounts of it will have a closer to brown tone. Correct me if I’m wrooonnngggg.
